Pear-Streusel Coffee Cake

1/2 cup sugar
4 Tbl. butter, melted
1 egg
1/2 cup buttermilk or milk +sour cream mixture
1-1/4 cups flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1 cup finely diced fresh pear (not peeled) 

Mix sugar with melted butter.  Add egg and buttermilk (or sour cream).  Mix in dry ingredients.  Fold in pears.  Spread mixture into 8" or 9" baking pan prepared with parchment paper.  

Streusel:
1/2 cup sugar
1/4 cup flour
3 Tbl. cold butter, cut into small chunks
1 tsp. cinnamon
Cut ingredients together with a fork or pastry blender.  Sprinkle the mixture over the top of the batter.
Bake at 375 degrees for 30-35 min or until it is golden and dry on top.
