Bircher Muesli

A small recipe for "overnight oats"...so make it the night before!  These ingredients and amounts can be adjusted according to individual taste.

For wheat (optional)...make the night before
1 cup water
1/4 cup hard white wheat
1/4 tsp. salt
Combine ingredients in small saucepan.  Bring to a boil.  Reduce heat to LO, cover, and simmer for 1-1/4 hours or until tender. Drain if needed. Keep extra in sealed container in fridge.

Bircher Muesli...make the night before and store in sealed container in fridge
1 cup regular rolled oats (not quick oats)
1/4 cup sunflower seeds
1/3 cup cooked white wheat: optional (see instructions above)
1-1/2 cups milk (2% or whole milk tastes best...of course!)
2 Tbl. sugar

To Serve the following morning, combine in individual serving bowl:
2/3 cup oat mix
1/4 cup vanilla yogurt
1-2 Tbl. cream
Sprinkle of sugar
Fresh berries: strawberries, blueberries, raspberries
