...A great sweetened crunch of sliced almonds to top salads, squash soup, ice cream, desserts...or just as a sweet snack!
1/2 cube margarine, not butter (4 Tbl)
1/2 cup sugar
3/4 cup sliced almonds
Melt margarine in saucepan over medium-heat. Add sugar, but don’t stir! Allow sugar to melt, swirling the pan when necessary. Cook 'til bubbly. Stir in almonds 'til coated. Spread on toaster pan and toast at 500 degrees for 3-5 min. or until almonds begin to turn brown, stirring occasionally if needed. Remove from oven and spread out on wax paper or parchment to cool.
