This jello fits into a glass 9x13 dish to be cut into individual serving squares, or looks pretty in a trifle bowl. You can choose to do as many layers as you'd like of whatever flavors you like. First decide what color you want on the bottom and start with that flavor. Make sure the liquid jello is about room-temperature before you pour it onto the previous set layer, so it won't melt that layer. You may wish to finish on top with a clear layer, rather than a creamy layer.
2 small boxes cherry jello
2 small boxes orange jello
2 small boxes lemon jello
2 small boxes lime jello
2 small boxes berry blue jello
2 small boxes black cherry jello
Evaporated milk (or evaporated milk and heavy cream mixture)
Spray serving dish with non-stick spray if you're going to be slicing into squares and serving.
Start a day ahead, as each layer must be set before adding another.
Be sure dish is level in fridge, so layers set evenly.
Step 1: Mix 1 box of desired bottom layer flavor of jello with 3/4 cup boiling water, then 3/4 cup cold water. Pour in serving dish and let set in fridge. (In this case, I used cherry)
Step 2: Mix 1 box of that same flavored jello with 3/4 cup boiling water, then INSTEAD of using cold water, mix with 3/4 cup evaporated milk (or evaporated milk & cream mixture). Let this liquid come to room temperature. Pour on top of first layer and let set.
Step 3: Repeat steps 1 & 2 with remaining flavors, allowing each to set before adding the next layer (liquid at room temperature).
