White Bread

This recipe makes 4 regular-large loaves or 6 med-size loaves.

2 cups warm water
2 Tbl. yeast
1/4 tsp. sugar
2 cups milk
1 cube margarine, softened
3 tsp. salt
1/2 cup sugar
9 cups all purpose flour

Soften yeast in warm water with 1/4 tsp sugar.  In mixer, combine milk, margarine, salt, and 1/2 cup sugar.  Add yeast mixture.  Add 5 cups flour and mix well.  Add 4 more cups flour (or until it pulls away from sides of mixer).  Knead on floured surface.  Put in greased bowl. Cover and let rise until double.  Punch down and form into 4 large or 6 medium-sized loaves.  Put in greased pans and let rise.  Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Bake near bottom of oven until golden on top and bottom.
