Snickerdoodles

1/2 cup butter-flavored shortening
1/2 cup real butter (1 cube)
1-1/2 cups sugar
2 eggs
2-3/4 cups flour
1 tsp. vanilla
2 tsp. cream of tartar
1-1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt
1-2 Tbl. sour cream (as needed for more moisture)

Roll balls of dough in mixture of:
1/3 cup + 1 Tbl. sugar
2 tsp. cinnamon

Mix together shortening, butter, sugar.  Add eggs and vanilla.  Mix in dry ingredients and sour cream, if needed.  Roll into balls.  Roll balls in cinnamon-sugar mixture.  Bake at 375 degrees for 8-10 min.  Take them out of oven when there are cracks in the top but they are still white.  They will be crispy as they cool.
